Process Displays Wins Industry Awards
(New Berlin, WI) Process Displays, Inc. was awarded four Outstanding Merchandising Awards (OMA’s) by Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI) on March 19 at the GlobalShop Exposition in Chicago.
A prestigious Gold OMA Award was received for the Ryobi Lithium Home Depot Endcap. The unit was designed and produced for The TTI Group of Anderson, SC. The retail display, which was fielded in advance of the 2007 Holiday season, supported the highly successful national launch of the Ryobi One Lithium-Ion battery at The Home Depot nationwide. The attention-grabbing display also appeared in television commercials.
Three Silver OMA’s were also awarded to Process Displays for the Wm. Wrigley Big E Dump Bin Display, the 3M Car Care Product Endcap, and the GameStop Trade Message Board.
Process Displays is a fully-integrated provider of custom, retail marketing displays, fixtures, signage, and programs. The company provides design, production, and logistics services from its home office in New Berlin, WI. GlobalShop is the world’s largest annual retail design and in-store marketing exposition. Creative Challenge:
Successfully support national launch of new Ryobi One+™ Lithium-Ion battery in Home Depot. Create attention-grabbing display for Home Depot end aisle racking to “announce” the new product introduction. Create dominant brand presence, display new Ryobi One+™ tool family for sampling, and ensure adequate merchandising space.
Execution:
Distinctive green color of Lithium brand dominates the display in brightly printed graphics and generous use of vibrant green acrylic. Back lighting makes vacuum formed translucent product pods glow and provides light source to accentuate the impact of brightly colored acrylic edges. Light source in base unit also floods light up back panel providing light to acrylic drop down brand signage.
Results:
Brightly colored, illuminated display dominated the Home Depot tool category. This retail marketing set complemented an integrated media effort to launch the new technology with the display actually appearing in television commercials. The launch was so successful in exceeding forecast that production had difficulty keeping up with product demand. Winner of a Gold Outstanding Merchandising Award.
Creative Challenge:
Design an attention grabbing display to promote and merchandise a new chewing gum concept. Highlight new packaging and ensure placement versatility across grocery and convenience retail channels.
Execution:Recreate innovative packaging in oversize dump bin display on wheels so that it can be placed optimally at retail to encourage impulse purchases. Distortion graphics on display managed by Process Printing™. Retailer friendly unit sets up easily out of the box and is also very easy to load with product.
Results:Innovative unit screamed the brand at retail. Small footprint combined with significant merchandising capacity supported strong national placement. New product launch was highly successful.

Creative Challenge:
Create a unified shopping environment for a new line of 3M Car Care products. Successfully promote national launch by dominating automotive environments with prominent end of aisle placement to capture new do-it-yourself auto enthusiasts.
Execution:
Promotional kit was designed to create a total brand environment on all stock endcap fixtures. Protruding header, shelf strips, backdrop, and floor graphic create a unified 3M environment. A quality chrome “3M Car Care Center” signage element at eye level creates ideal lead branding element.
Results:
This unit achieved national placement in NAPA Auto Centers supporting 3M’s successful launch. Shoppers were drawn to the high traffic end of aisle location by the protruding header with the highly recognizable “3M” logo. Unit successfully drove impulse sales of 3M car care products to consumers entering the auto aftermarket store.

Creative Challenge:
Create an attractive trade message board that advertises “coming soon”, “trade-in values”, and “best selling” video game titles in GameStop retail locations. Create positive impressions of the GameStop brand to increase consumer comfort level and expand the variety of video game consumers that choose GameStop.
Execution:
The Trade Message Board was designed for the wall location behind the checkout to maximize visibility to consumers around the store. The GameStop trademark brand colors of red and black were used to build brand and complement overall store appearance. Scrolling date and price mechanisms create reliable long-term functionality for changing dates and prices.
Results:
Unit was fielded in advance of holiday season and was a key in-store marketing element contributing to a year-over-year same-store holiday sales increase of 20%. Store level managers are very happy to be fielding stronger GameStop brand executions at retail and creating better retail image. The unit contributed significantly to ongoing efforts to build the GameStop brand as the primary destination for the growing video gaming market.
